Team Guam ruled the 3x3 courts during the 10thMicronesian Games hosted at the ECC gymnasium winning both the men and women’s competition in convincing fashion to earn the team’s first two gold medals of the Games.

The young women’s squad comprising of 14-year-old Jia Peters, Mia San Nicolas, Elysia Perez, and Alura Hernandez dominated their semi-final match against Kiribati 21-4, then closed out the gold medal match with a 21-5drubbing of Nauru.

The team got out to a quick start and kept Palau at bay in the gold medal match to secure the victory and gold medal with a final tally of21-8.  In semi-final play, Guam cruised to the gold medal match by depleting the Nauru team’s hope.

With the conclusion of the 3x3 event, the 5 a-side events kick off at 10:00 a.m. RMI time with Guam taking the court against Kiribati.
